Tiesto

So yesterday was a really random night but my roommate from Amsterdam is a HUGE HUGE fan of Tiesto and wanted to see him do his thang at Webster Hall.  I am not too much of a huge Trance/Electro fan but i love dancing, so play me ANYTHING and i'll dance!! I might say the whole night was pretty nice!! Right when we got there, the workers we really hospitable and were all running around trying to get us 5 VIP bracelets.. I guess they didn't want us to wait or something.  We just walked in like we knew what was up or something but they escorted us all the way to the third floor to the VIP booths with unlimited redbull, orange juice, water, ice AND stoli vodka, Crown Royal,  It was a never ending story of alcohol.

The difference between revolution and evolution in GLOBAL WARMING!

Every morning, while I have my breakfast, I try to catch up on current events and this morning, the huge topic that caught my attention was Global Warming.  As the earth heats up during the summer months, the Arctic Sea could break apart completely at the North Pole.  This is the first time in human history that this ice landmark will thaw out due to global warming.  Studies have shown that the Arctic will melt completely in a few decades but last year there was a 30% decrease in Ice and NOW... it's almost all melted.  This will be the first for ships to sail through the normally frozen Arctic sea.  

As global warming becomes more of a visible problem in this world, you wonder how people are still clueless about this issue.  This is when you have to differentiate between revolution and evolution because of global warming.  To explain revolution and evolution a little better, you can refer to "the frog in hot water" experiment.  It was said that if you put a frog in water and slowly but gradually increase the temperature of the water, the frog would not register the change in temperature.  The frog will continue to stay in the heat and die, not realizing it was too hot for the frog to stay in.  But if you put a frog in luke warm water, it will immediately jump out because the frog knew it was too hot.  This experiment shows that people will continue to sit here clueless while our bodies and everything around us slowly heats up.  Our bodies will evolve so that we can live in this kind of temperature until this world becomes another heated lifeless Mars.

How can someone that is 2,000 miles away still manage to push your buttons?? OVER IT!!

ANYWAY.. am pretty exhausted.. So, today i was an "actor" as my roommate would call it.  In other words, I was and extra shaking my ass during a scene at a bar in Williamsburg.  My roommate Martin is a Cinematographer and he just finished a 2 minute bar scene, which actually took over 7 hours to film!! CRAZY!!  Maybe one day you'll see it on HBO or something like that!!

Gonna be an extra in a film this Thursday that is gonna be produced by my roommate Martin. 

AND TOMORROW, I am gonna have cocktails with a friend that works at Marie Claire!!! She is an absolute sweet heart!!!

My sublet... it's soo cute!!

So, I am currently subletting the room next door to Sam's room for a few in SoHo.  The room is soo adorable.  Apparently, this Spanish photographer needed extra cash so she decided to sublet her room.  She had an extra room, which was her old studio (in the house) but made it into her own room.

Brooklyn

I think I'll be out in Brooklyn on the weekends often.  The weekend in Manhattan seems to bring people who are kinda out of place.  It kinda reminds me of SF on the weekends.  But Sam and I have been dying to go to Ikea Brooklyn.  What better way to move to NYC and then an Ikea opening up so that I can start fresh.  Ikea is a big girls playground.. it's so much fun shopping there!! Look at the picture i found online.

What a great first week in NYC!!!

I am currently subletting a huge loft room that is hella decked out in SoHo.  I'll show you pictures when I remember to take some.  But in between partying, meeting people and interviews, I managed to to a little site-seeing.  Here are pictures of a my first week living in NYC! Well, that's all I really have time for.  Might meet up someone in Williamsburg for a party but i'll see if I am in the mood.  We raged last night at the Vice party at Santos and met cute boys at Sweet Paradise so i am hella exhausted! Until next time..

I will never look at fake gold the same way again!!

While walking around in the city, I stumbled upon a few jewelry stores that sold real 14 karat doorknocker earrings and 14 karate chains.  They ranged from 260-500 depending on the weight of the gold.  I will never look at fake door knockers or fake gold chain the same way again!
